news / 04.21.2017 Giants' Odell Beckham Jr. to Guest Coach at LSU Spring Game
New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will always stay true to his Louisiana roots. It’s one of the reasons he attended LSU and one of the reasons he will reportedly guest coach at LSU’s spring game on Saturday.
Billy Embody of Scout.com reported on Friday that Beckham Jr., along with several former Tigers, will be on the sidelines to help encourage the players during the spring game.
The New Orleans native will join plenty of other LSU greats including Matt Mauck, Kevin Faulk, Bradie James, Charles Alexander and others (see tweet) on the sidelines for the coin toss and hanging out with players.
Beckham Jr. won’t be the only one representing the Giants at LSU’s spring game. Former Giants cornerback Corey Webster, who spent his entire nine-year career with Big Blue, also attended LSU and will be one of the featured guests.
Beckham Jr. is coming off of another spectacular season. He recorded 1,367 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns while catching a career-high 101 passes in 2016. He earned his third Pro Bowl in as many years while making the playoffs for the first time in his career.
Beckham Jr. enjoyed an amazing college career at LSU, which helped pave the way for a first round selection in 2014. On Saturday, he’ll give back to the school that helped set up his professional career.
