news / 01.15.2016 New York Giants’ Eli Manning, Odell Beckham Jr. Nominated for Several “NFL Honors”
On Saturday, February 6th — the eve before Super Bowl 50 — the NFL will hold their "NFL Honors" awards which are designed to represent the best 2015 had to offer. And of the 16 awards to be given away, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. are nominated for three of them.
Manning, who was named the Giants' Walter Payton Man of the Year Award for the fifth time in his career, is up for the league-wide award going by the same name.
“My dad (Archie) played at the same time as Walter Payton, and has some stories and always talked about what a great person he was,” Manning told Giants.com. “He was a prankster and just a joy to be around and worked extremely hard and he had only great things to say about him. From everything wonderful I’ve heard about him, it’s an honor to receive this award for the Giants team. I’m proud about the work I do, on and off the field.”
Meanwhile, for Odell Beckham Jr., he's been nominated for the Bridgestone Performance Play of the Year award — an award he won last year for his one-handed touchdown grab against the Dallas Cowboys.
This year, Beckham Jr. has been nominated for the follow spectacular touchdown reception he made against the Washington Redskins.
In addition to the Bridgestone Performance Play of the Year award, Beckham Jr. has also been nominated for the NFL.com Fantasy Player of the Year Award presented by SAP.
