blog / 08.04.2015 Update from Training Camp
My main goal coming into this season is the same as everyone else’s... to win a Super Bowl. At the end of the day, that’s the first thing you think about. Being there and being the last team standing and hoisting that trophy up.
We’re going to need the entire team playing at a high level to reach our goal. It takes offense, defense and special teams. Of course, me being on offense, we want to put up a lot of points per game and help the defense out as much as possible. We all have our jobs and our roles, and we know defense has to do their job. We’ll lean on each other.
A big thing I’ve been focusing on while rehabbing is watching film. I’ve watched a lot of film on wideouts… Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Chris Carter, and even present-day guys. I’ve even been watching film on some of my teammates. I just watch and observe. I like to see what people did to be successful, and take mental notes of that to incorporate into my own game. So I’m a watcher, I watch everybody.
I still have 4 games as a rookie. Hopefully I can get rookie of the week or something like that. Eli tells me I’m a rookie all the time still. So you just have to take that and keep going, try to inspire somebody. Being called a rookie would probably motivate a lot of people, but I don’t need that to motivate me. I’m a self-motivated person. I find things that tend to motivate me even more along the way.
I’m taking things day by day, one step at a time. I’m just going to go out and do the same things I did last year. You pray and hope for the same results and that’s where you leave it. What we have coming up, the guys that we have and how everything looks... seems like it’s going to be a great year.
