blog / 04.30.2015 Throwback to Draft Day 2014
It’s Draft Day and I can’t help but to think back to a year ago when I was in that position, excited about my upcoming journey. I wasn’t sure what team would end up picking me, but being drafted by the Giants couldn’t have worked out any better. To be playing alongside some of the most well established receivers in the league was a great opportunity for me to stay competitive and to prove myself.
It was an amazing moment to be able to experience the draft with people who have been there for you since day one and those that helped you reach your dreams. The Draft is the day that all your hard work and preparation pays off and you’re able to put a smile on Mom and Dad’s face.
I won’t forget that memory of walking up there on stage; it’s something that I would watch as a kid. It was a surreal moment. When I heard my name called, I had to take time to thank the Man above and my parents. It was truly a dream come true and I continue to live that dream day in and day out.
I love this organization – the fans, my teammates, my coaches, all motivating me to get better each and every day. I am a blessed man to be in the position I am in. My mindset is always let’s go, let’s get after it and to stay competitive. I am always looking to improve as an athlete and looking forward to continuing to prove myself as a member of the Giants.
To all the guys waiting for their name to be called, enjoy the moment and soak it in. Stay patient; if you gave it your all up to this moment, it will pay off. Wishing you all the best and looking forward to playing alongside whosever name gets called for the Gmen.
